Our primary team of coordinators is formed by Valeria, Armin, Jésica, Mercedes, Berta, Mayra, Johan, Eric and Lourdes. We play a hands-on role in the programs we offer. It is through our daily participation and communication with local organizations that we become aware of the specific needs of each project.
Our jobs includes:
The individuals that form the Voluntario Global team come from diverse backgrounds. It makes for an interesting and amazing workplace.
Valeria, one of the founders, has worked with social organizations for more than ten years.
An art teacher and licensed in tourism, she began volunteering in a shantytown where she taught art workshops to children and assisted them with their homework.
After almost five years of volunteering her time in such ways, Valeria began to ponder a new project that would allow her to have a deeper impact in the poorer neighborhoods. Her vision was to start an organization that promoted continued education and training in order to create greater equality.
Today, she is dedicated to her relationship with each institution under Voluntario Global and she helps create job and collaboration networks.
As fate would have it, Valeria met Armin, the co-founder of Voluntario Global, while she was helping him with his homework in one of the towns. She eventually discussed her dream of creating an organization aimed at helping people living in shantytowns all across greater Buenos Aires.
They started to plan how they could get such a world-changing organization up and running.
Armin, a Bolivian national, deals with administrative, financial, and many other vital issues for Voluntario Global.
The youngest of the team, Berta and Mercedes are close friends who came to the organization to coordinate and volunteer for several different projects. Both are in charge of introducing volunteers to specific projects and coordinating their work. They do this by integrating the volunteers into the projects and by delegating meaningful tasks to the volunteers.
Berta, currently studying primary education, coordinates and teaches classes aimed at assisting children with their homework. Additionally, she coordinates and assists children and adolescents in an orphanage.
Mercedes, a medical student, coordinates and teaches adolescents in a shantytown, while also coordinating volunteer work in an orphanage as well.

After an exhaustive search, Jésica arrived to the organization. She is an excellent English teacher and translator, with years of experience in volunteer management.
Not only did we find a great professional, but also a sensible person who can always find the perfect volunteer opportunity We've found this and much more in Jésica!
She is constantly striving to increase organizational efficiency and is in search of new opportunities where volunteers' help is needed most.
Mayra collaborates with the Voluntario Global development team to promote our projects and to recruit new volunteers.
Born in Peru, she decided to continue her life in Argentina to get to know another context of latin america culture and to do a postgraduate study. Mayra always dreamed of working for an NGO. Her dream came true. Since a few months she is working in our Marketing and Communications area.
Mayra also works to stay in contact with current volunteers, helping them with any doubts and ensuring an integrated experience. She is the first contact that volunteers will meet in Buenos Aires and serves as a guide throughout their stays.
Housekeeping and Maintenance
Both Lourdes and Eric joined the team less than a year ago.
Lourdes maintains the order and upkeep of the Voluntario Global volunteer house/office. She does everything she can to make volunteers as well as coordinators feel at home in the volunteer house.
Eric, an engineering student, is in charge of the handiwork in the volunteer house. He changes light bulbs, fixes broken appliances, paints, and simply assures that the house provides a comfortable environment for the guests.
