The one-day experience is perfect for those who want to see another reality of Buenos Aires but aren’t able to commit to a long-term program. You can see how a community center in La Boca is working to improve the lives of under-served families by distributing food to over 100 families weekly in exchange for work, running a cooperative organization where workers share in the profits of their labor, and organizing community members to affect real political change. Voluntario Global works in conjunction with the community center to provide English classes for children and adults, technology workshops, organizational aid, and help in both of the community center’s kitchens.
A minimal contribution (95 pesos)- pays for transportation, lunch, your bilingual interpreter, the guide from the neighborhood, supplies for the workshops and preparation of afternoon snacks.
