Un voluntario profesional es aquel que ayuda temporalmente a modo de práctica profesional, es decir, con entrenamiento practico en el área de sus estudios universitarios o desarrollo profesional. Los voluntarios que participan en estos programas son, en su mayoría, estudiantes universitarios o ya graduados que buscan tener experiencia internacional dentro de sus carreras. Estos progamas son validos para sumar crédito universitario.
Voluntario Global también ofrece oportunidades a aquellos voluntarios que buscan experiencia laboral internacional que les permita, asimismo, crear una red de contactos y ayuda en otros países.
